MetaZoo Fanart

I discovered MetaZoo around December 2021 and instantly fell in love with their art style. It sparked feelings of nostalgia for me of TCGs that I grew up with. Inspired, I began creating fan art starting in 2022 and have been blown away by the support and positivity in the MetaZoo community. I have created works in watercolour, marker and digital. 

 "Mishipeshu & Shawnahooc" - alcohol markers 

I am a very big fan of MetaZoo artist, Isaac Sky Lee's artwork and Beastie design, so I was inspired to draw two of my favourites in a piece together.

"Cult of the Lamp" - alcohol markers

This piece was inspired by the streamer that MetaZoo's Green Goblin character is based off of, PaymoneyWubby. In one of his IRL streams, there was a lamp that he could see out of his hotel window. It wasn’t long before a group of his fans managed to find the lamp and began to gather around it as he streamed live. They named themselves the Cult of the Lamp.
That event, inspired me to draw this scene.

"Mini T-Rex riding a Jackalope" - alcohol markers

One of the winning entries in the Artist Appreciation Project's monthly MetaZoo themed fan art challenges. The theme for this particular month was Caster's Ranch. I knew that I wanted to incorporate MetaZoo's Mini T-rex in his little cowboy hat and chose a steed that I felt would be speedy and loyal, the Jackalope! I studied MetaZoo's cards that included desert landscapes and tried to match the style that would fit into their world.

"Rougarou" - alcohol markers

Inspired by Isaac Sky Lee's MetaZoo beastie design for Rougarou. I studied these cards as well as MetaZoo artist, PONCHO's dark lighting style.

"Chibi Wendigo" - watercolours

One day, somebody on Discord mentioned how they needed a chibi Wendigo, so I got to work drawing and painting one of my own based off of MetaZoo's full sized Wendigo! This painting pays homage to one of my favourite Pokemon cards I had when I was little.

"Happy Birthday Kelsey"

I was asked by the Artist Appreciation Project Discord group to illustrate a birthday card for the MetaZoo artist, Kelsey Jachinomz. For it, I decided to paint three of the beasties she had originally illustrated, Mothman, Loveland Frogman and Hodag. Once it had been painted, I sent it digitally for the group organizer to make into a digital card for the members to sign.

MetaZoo did an amazing skateboard collab that I sadly missed out on, but it inspired me to draw up and paint my own MetaZoo themed skateboard art

"Snawfus" - watercolours

In May 2022, MetaZoo hosted an art contest where they provided a list of cryptid names along with their aura types. I took time researching each cryptid and decided with the Snawfus as one of my entries. Living in the woods of the Ozark mountains, the Snawfus is said to be a white deer with wings that allow it to leap into treetops. It has dogwood tree branch antlers that blossom in the springtime. After studying MetaZoo’s previous light aura Beasties I took note of the colour pallet and elements such as the white outline and butterflies.

"Crispy Stong" - digital

This was a very special design that I was asked to create by Caster Society. They printed the design on shirts and had a fundraiser to help support a member of the community who’s family member was going through cancer treatment ❤️ They asked for Wendigo and Quetzalcoatlus standing in a strong pose together since those were the community member’s favourite MetaZoo beasties.

"The Green Goblin" - digital

MetaZoo’s Green Goblin was a special crossover character created for a streamer (that I am a fan of) called PaymoneyWubby. When MetaZoo announced their UFO series, I was thinking of some early fan art to draw to celebrate the aliens coming, and thought of this image.

Over the past year, Caster Society has commissioned me to draw fan art of multiple MetaZoo beasties to be on their promo cards that they give out with card bundles and at conventions. I drew St.Germaine and the White Stag for their Seance release bundles. I made sure to include a cameo of one of my favourite beasties in the background.

 

Pokemon Fanart

I have been a longtime fan of Pokemon and have always loved creating art of it.

"Who Do You Choose?" - alcohol markers

This series of 4 drawings was created to test out my new Ohuhu alcohol marker set. I had never used alcohol markers before in my art, but after seeing the beautiful works the MetaZoo team were creating with Copics, I decided to give them a try.

"Sprigatito" - alcohol marker

When this starter Pokemon was announced, I fell in love with it. I wanted to draw a cute little casual pose for it, where it is looking like it may have just knocked a glass of water off of the table.

"My First Pokemon" - digital

To celebrate Pokemon Day, I drew this picture of Pikachu, my first starter Pokemon. Because I didn't have a Gameboy, I would play on my N64 through Pokemon Stadium.

#Inktober Paintings

The round painting series below, was created as a part of an #Inktober challenge where I created one painting a day for each day in October. They were painted in watercolours, but outlined in ink.

Over the Garden Wall Digital Art

This is a beautifully animated mini-series that is perfect for watching in October. I drew a picture of the cute school animals who wear clothes that appear in the third episode (one of my favorites).

During the Covid-19 lockdown, I started drawing these animal characters from Animal Crossing but in the theme that they were kids.
